Inspects anti-erosion works on Maloori Nallah

The Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nawang Rigzin Jora visited Dara Harwan catchment areas of Dal Lake today.Jora inspected the anti-erosion works carried out on Maloori Nallah, which passes through many localities including Dardkhover, Nagbal, Check Dara, Ganie Mohalla, Gandthal, Saraibag, Syedpora, Danihama, Mulfag and Tailbal. The Nallah, which is a tributary of Tailbal Nallah joins Dachigam Nallah at Mulfag and finally goes into Dal Lake through Shanpora, Habbak depositing heavy load of silt and debris coming into the lake from the catchment.The anti-erosion works carried out by LAWDA to reduce silt and debris including Gabion Retard, Gabion Check Dams, Retard lines and other anti-erosion works were inspected by the Minister.The Minister also visited Gandthal and reviews the anti-quarrying measures. He also inspected the structure constructed to stop quarrying in the area.The Minister was accompanied by Secretary Urban Development, Mr. Satish Nehru, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Mr. Irfan Yaseen and other concerned officers.
