Reconstructed Dastgeer Sahib (RA), Naqashband Sahib (RA) Shrines to be made functional during Urs

The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar convened high level meeting of officers here today to review the ongoing work on Dastgeer Sahib (RA), Naqshband Sahib (RA) shrines besides the other developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government for the sustained development and beautification of Srinagar city.The Minister was informed that reconstruction work on the Dastgeer Sahib Shrine (RA) is nearing completion and is going to be made functional for devotees on the eve of Urs Dastgeer Sahib (RA). He was further informed that the Masjid near the shrine would also be thrown open for prayers. While reviewing the under construction Naqashband Sahib (RA) shrine, the Minister was told that work on Khankahi-Faiz-e-Panah is also nearing completion and would be thrown open for devotees during  Urs Naqashband Sahib (RA).It was given out that an amount of Rs. 21 crore and Rs. 4 crore are being expended on the twin shrines out of which Rs. 19 crore have been expended on Dastgeer Sahib (RA) shrine and Rs. 3.90 crore have been expended on Naqashband Sahib (RA) shrine so far.

The Minister was also told that the work on Daulatabad and Koolipora Khanyar community centres is apace. Mr. Sagar instructed the concerned officers to expedite work on these projects so that locals can avail benefits of the same. During the meeting, ongoing work on heritage Zaina Kadal bridge and new Zaina Kadal bridge was also reviewed.The meeting was attended by Managing Director JKPCC, Director Rural Development and concerned officers.Later, the Minister visited New Zaina Kadal Bridge which is coming up at Rs. 9.82 crore, out of which Rs. 7.88 crore have been released so far while an amount of Rs. 40 lakh have been expended on the bridge so far. The bridge is expected to be completed within three years.Later, the Minister visited Khankhai Moula area and inspected under Construction Park in the area which is being developed by Floriculture department.The Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer R&B and senior offices of JKPCC.
