Chandigarh , 26 Jul 2012

Rev. Mohinder Singh Ji, Parmukh , Branch Chandigarh,  Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 30-A, said that  His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission left for UK this morning to preside over the first Nirankari International Samagam scheduled to be held in Birmingham on August 11 and 12, 2012.  His gracious spouse Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji and some other delegates accompanied him.The Samagam will be celebrated as “Festival of Oneness.” Obviously it will highlight the theme of Oneness of the Mankind despite all kinds of persities of caste, creed and colour, region and culture. With delegates participating from all over the world, the Samagam seeks to present a living example of unity in persity. India will also be represented by hundreds of the devotees of the Mission visiting UK. Including a number of saints from the trycity i.e, Chandigarh (Manimajra) Panchkula & Mohali Nirankari saints will attend the U.K. Samagam. The Foreign Department of the Sant Nirankari Mission has issued special delegate passes to them, besides assisting them in many other ways to facilitate their participation.  And they all are very enthusiastic for attending that   Samagam.Earlier, a special congregation was held on the occasion at Delhi.  Addressing the gathering His Holiness said that saints in UK are working with great enthusiasm to make necessary arrangements for this first event of its kind being organized outside India at such a large scale, even though as compare to India they have a very limited manpower.  He also appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the devotees from India who are going to participate in the Samagam.  He said that the aim of the Samagam is to take the message of Oneness based on Spiritual Enlightenment throughout the world.  As the Mission moves towards this landmark in its history, several activities have been organized to focus on its theme – Oneness.  They commenced towards the end of May with the celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.  The Mission celebrated it across the UK in almost all its centres with focuses Commonwealth.  The Mission’s volunteers promoted the upcoming salvation tour of His Holiness with T-shirts, banners and a dedicated exhibition on the theme: “Oneness, our common wealth.”This was followed by a musical concert called Kaleidoscope in which 300 children from 15 schools from different countries participated.  The persity of each artist unified the underlying message of the event – ‘Oneness’.  Along with the musical performances, art exhibitions were also a part of the focus promoting multi-faith culture.Another important event organized in the series was an International Artistic and Design Competition.  It engaged the youth up to the age of 16 to be involved in thinking about Oneness and what it means to them, presenting their thoughts in art forms.  Street shows based on short skits were also organized in various towns across the U.K.   They sought to highlight the good human values so that the spirit of Oneness must prevail in all the things that we do.From August 4, the spirit of Samagam will coincide with that of Olympics.  Certain sports events will be organized so that the participants have the feel of sharing the Olympics.  On August 5, the Mission will be hosting the London Games which will essentially form a Mini Olympics.  Thousands of delegates coming for the Samagam are expected to participate in these events.  This will, of course, be in addition to the Mission’s volunteers taking part in the Olympic Torch Relay which was marked by live music, exhibitions, stalls and dance performances, all expressing the theme of ‘Oneness’.  This seemed to be bringing the world together and highlighting our similarities as human beings.  On August 9, Leicester will host an open air Music Festival for the delegates.  The aim here also will be to promote the understanding of one another through music. On August 10, there will be an impressive Sewa Dal Rally followed by a World Record Dance for Oneness.  As the Olympic spirit will be in hearts and minds, all the delegates may profit from this in their own way and walk away with their own record.  The two-day Samagam will be webcast live on the Mission’s Website www.nirankari.org.  The concluding ceremony will be marked by live telecast of the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.
