Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike today laid foundation stone of Punjab's first ‘Pashu Dhan Vikas Bhawan’ at Mohali. This project is likely to be completed in next year.Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike said that this Bhawan would cover more than 250 officers/officials of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development Departments and other board/corporations of Punjab working in various rented buildings at Chandigarh and Mohali. The estimated cost of Bhawan would be Rs 11 crore.He also said that main motive of constructing this Bhawan is to provide all services under one roof. He further said that with the offices of the department coming at one place, the citizens, farmers as well as officials of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development Departments and concerned Boards of the state will not have to visit department's different offices located in other parts of Chandigarh and Mohali for their official work.
He said that it would save a lot of precious time and the work would be carried in a hassle free manner. He said that ‘Pashu Dhan Vikas Bhawan’ would have modern facilities like Fire Alarm, Air-conditioning system, and external development etc. He said that the total area of this plot is one acre. Built up area would be 60,000 sq. ft. Prominent amongst others who were present included CPS Mr. Desh Raj Dhugga, Mr. Mandeep Singh Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary (Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development), Dr. H.S. Sandha, Director Animal Husbandry, Mr. Inderjit Singh, Director Dairy Development and Dr. Madan Mohan Director Fisheries.
