District Development Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani Wednesday chaired a meeting of sectoral officers and reviewed the progress on various ongoing developmental works in the district.PO ICDS, Manzoor Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Iqbal Zarger, SE I&FC, Riyasat Khan, Superintendent DH, Dr. Niaz Chouhan, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, I&FC, PDD, PMGSY besides officers of other departments were present in the meeting.During the meeting, the XEn PWD informed that macadamization work on all identified roads is in full swing and the targets fixed for the year 2015-16 will be achieved within the specified time period.He said the construction work on various roads, bridges and buildings is going on and tenders for the rest have been floated.
The DDC directed the XEn for regular monitoring and quality evaluation of all the ongoing works.
The DC asked the department to follow the new macadamization specification of 75mm strictly. He also asked the department to finalize the tendering process for all works by 15th of this month.The DDC directed the RDD, I&FC, agriculture department for effective dovetailing of various schemes to take the developmental process ahead. He appreciated the PDD authorities’ drive against illegal electric connections and directed the department to identify all those business establishments, religious institutions, trusts etc. which are not paying electricity bills.Thorough review of Urban Development, Rural Sanitation, Education, Health, agriculture, horticulture, PHE etc. was taken and the DDC exhorted upon the officers to ensure regular monitoring of the ongoing development works of their respective departments. He asked the officers of executing agencies to put in their dedicated efforts in accelerating the pace of works so that desired targets could be achieved well in time.Directions were also issued to all concerned to implement the decisions of DDB meeting by proactive inter-departmental coordination and follow up where decision pertains to higher authorities.
