Accusing coalition partners of Jammu and Kashmir Government of playing politics over Dogra Certificate to appease a section of society in Jammu, National Conference Tuesday said that issuing or raising Dogra Certificate issue depicts of autocratic mindset that goes against the spirit of democracy.“One of the Ministers from Jammu raised this issue during our government but after the resistance and opposition from the people of Kashmir, our government shelved the idea. There is a limited section of society in Jammu who want to reap benefits under Dogra certificate and they have been using the politicians for the purpose. Now both BJP and PDP want to appease this section of society in Jammu.
This certificate is not going to help every Tom Dick and Harry in Jammu,” NC Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal told CNS adding that the practice of issuing Dogra Certificates was put to halt after autocratic rule came to an end in 1947.Kamal said that it is irony that PDP, which opposed the issuance of Dogra Certificate during NC-Congress rule, is now pleading the case. “RSS, which is directly ruling the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir has been forcing PDP leaders to act as deaf and dumb. PDP has been making ground for BJP and RSS in Kashmir,” he said. Kamal alleged the People’s Democratic Party has been keeping people in dark over Sanik Colony issue. “We have inputs that Sanik Colony will be set up in Kashmir to change the demography of Valley. PDP has been involving in a sinister design to implement the RSS policies in Kashmir,” he said. (CNS)
