Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and Awami Muthida Mahaz (AMM) leader Hakim Mohammad Yasin Monday equated raising of Dogra Certificate issue by the coalition partner BJP with revival of 1846 Treaty of Amritsar.“This coalition (PDP-BJP) is only creating controversies. First it was State Subject, then separate colonies for Kashmiri Pandits then West Pakistan refugees and so on. Nobody knows where is the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the coalition? What is its so called ‘Agenda of Alliance’? They create only controversies on daily basis,” he said in a statement to KNS.
Reacting to Union Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh’s statement calling upon the ruling PDP-BJP coalition government to bring in the legislation for restoring Dogra Certificate to its original format, Hakim Yasin said, ““Dogra Certificate means revival of Treaty of Amritsar. One fails to understand why such unnecessary issues are being raked up to create uncertainty in the state.”
“The agenda of this government should have been the rehabilitation of flood victims. But unfortunately it is the least priority. PDP had entered into coalition with BJP on the promise of development and rehabilitation of flood victims. But it has proved a hoax. What is the achievement of this government so far?” Hakim Yasin, who is MLA Khansahib, said.“On one side people are suffering immensely on the other government is holding functions on the first anniversary of the flood. What has this government been able to do so far that they are celebrating. We appeal Mufti sahib to come clear and make it clear what is the policy of his government. He should make it clear what is his agenda for the development of Kashmiris?” the PDF chief said.He also supported the traders and other civil society groups who had called for the strike on Monday against the lax approach of the government in rehabilitating the flood victims.
