Delhi Book Fair: F.I.P. Awards Publishers For Excellence In Book Production

The Federation of Indian Publishers hosted an award ceremony today to honor the participating publishers of the Delhi Book Fair for their excellence and hard work in the book production sector. Shri Baldeo Bhai Sharma, Chairman of The National Book Trust (NBT) was the Chief Guest in the event. The award ceremony consisted of nine categories, namely hardbound books, black & white and multicoloured paperbacks, academic books, art books and books on science and technology. The sections for these awards were divided into Hindi, English and regional languages like Telugu, Punjabi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, etc. The winners of these awards included Om International Books, Harper Collins Publishers India Ltd., Rupa Publications India Pvt. Ltd., Penguin Books India Pvt. Ltd., Macmillan Publishers, Bloomsbury Publishing, Puffin Books and Sahitya Akademi. Publishers from all around India came forth to attend this ceremony. 

Books of almost all regional languages were awarded by Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director of the Delhi Book Fair and President of the Federation of Indian Publishers. The first female I.P.S. officer of India, Kiran Bedi also visited the Delhi Book Fair today. She was present at the Diamond Books stall to launch four new books by Mr. Acharya Bhagwan Dev. The books launched today were “Yoga- Striyo aur Purush Ke Liye”, “Yoga Se Rog Niwarna”, “Yogasan Aur Swasth” and “Pranayan- Kundlini Aur Hatyoga”. She also promoted her new book “The Making of The Top Cop”, retold by Dr. Rita Peshawariya Menon and Anu Peshawariya.

A workshop on Library Science organized by Ranganathan Research Centre Circle.

Book release function organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (T.E.R.I.)

Seminar on “Health Awareness through Acupressure” by International Institute of Alternate Sciences.

Learning 360: Bridging the Gap between Tutors & Students”, a seminar organized by Disha Publications.
