In a maiden move of its kind, the Minister of Education, Mr Naeem Akhtar, Thursday directed the authorities of a school in Jammu to start curative classes for academically weaker students. The Minister made the announcement during an interaction with the students and staff of Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) in Jammu's Gandhi Nagar area."The Government has initiated various measures to make the academic journey of our students hassle-free so that they can compete not only at the national level, but international level as well and make our state proud," the Minister said.Akhtar took serious note of the casual approach adopted by the teachers at BHSS Gandhi Nagar, who had skipped checking the homework of the students on regular basis. He directed the Chief Education Officer of Jammu to visit the school after a week to personally monitor the progress made by the teachers in improving the quality of education at the school."The casual approach of teachers will not only affect the students but the future of our state as well.

They must change their attitude towards their jobs," the Minister said.He also directed the authorities to setup one "Smart Classroom" for the benefit of the students at the school.Earlier, the Minister reviewed the progress on the construction of Auditorium and Teacher Bhawan at the school.
